Sailing down the River Hron has taken part for the forth time. In which way was it different this year? First of all, we managed to cover the longest track in our history of sailing - from Budča to Revišské Podzámčie - 37 km. Secondly, the water in Hron was extremely shallow this year, which made it almost impossible to sail and forced us to start in Nemecká and not in Podbrezová, as we are used to.
On Saturday 11th July 2009, the first of the KERIC summer camps in Makov ended. 18 children from all over Slovakia and 5 leaders- Daniel from Brasil, Gerard from Spain, Sandra from Austria and Mirka and Elena from Slovakia - took part in the camp.

As usual, the sailing event of this summer has been a great success. The 39 adventure-seeking participants started in camping site Nemecká, sailed down as long as 101 kilomenteres down the river Hron - staying each night in a different camping site - in Iliáš, Budča, Šášov and in Revištské Podzámčie. The group also visited the wooden church in Hronsek, the ruins of the castle in Šášov and aquapark in Vyhne.

This has been the first time that we have organised an advanced horse-riding camp! A group of experienced riders spent a wonderful week in Balkov Dvor in Prenčov near Banská Štiavnica. Their camping site was directly in the farm Balkov Dvor, surrounded by the wonderful countryside of Štiavnické Vrchy - whose wonders they explored at least two hours every morning from the back of a horse.
This has been the fifth time that children interested in horse-riding took part in a horse-riding camp in Makov. This year- the participants gathered from all over Slovakia - from - Orava, Topoľčany, Bratislava, Čadca, Turzovka, Raková, Kysucké Nové Mesto, Olešná, but also from as far as Ireland.

In late June 2009, four young people from Čadca under the leadership of Slávka Špiláková went to the Youth Exchange PHOTO TALK II to Latvia, which was also attended by young people from France, the Netherlands, Latvia and Italy.
In June 2009 the international youth exchange S-LAPORA IV. successfully took place. Young people from Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Norway and Slovakia took part in it. They lived in LTC Stará Bystrica and visited Čadca, Žilina, Strečno, Open-air museum in Vychylovka, went on tour to Veľká Rača and during 3 days they participated in "Social soccer cup" in Austria.
Four girls from KERIC - Andrea, Kristína, Barbora a Dominika - under the leadership of Rodolfo - will take part in youth exchange in Italy in Altamura from 27.4. till 8.5. The main topic is photograph and everything connected with it.
