Virtual meetings, new friendships, and small big changes
What would the world look like if we saw it through the eyes of our peers from other countries? That’s the question young people from Slovakia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Estonia asked themselves during the three-year project OUR WORLD, which took place from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2025. Thanks to virtual exchanges, they could get to know each other, compare their views on life, and work together to find ways to bring positive change to their communities.
36 young people from Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, and Spain gathered in Ladonhora, Slovakia for a week-long youth exchange centered on the theme Understanding Cultural Differences in Relationships. The project focused on building intercultural awareness, empathy, and communication skills through creative workshops, team activities, and shared experiences.
Volunteering Center Skopje (VCS) is a place where young people come to inspire and be inspired. Lucia, an ESC volunteer, embraced this opportunity, diving into a journey of creativity, culture, and connection. Through her work in media, cultural exchange, and community projects, she left a lasting impact while growing in ways she never imagined.
