After the global COVID-19 pandemic, people have become increasingly aware of mental health issues, especially among young people, who are now 30 to 80% more likely to suffer from a mental disorder. Mental health problems can negatively affect education, employment, and social relationships.

The MIND Project was created to strengthen mental health practices and improve the emotional well-being of students in vocational education and training (VET), while also building the capacity of professionals in this field. Special attention is given to supporting socio-emotional well-being during international mobility.

Training content: Let’s talk about mental health

Within the project, a comprehensive training course was developed, focusing on mental health awareness and helping to integrate emotional well-being.

The total duration of the training is 14 hours and it is structured to be delivered over two full days, with 7 hours per day.

The training is divided into 4 main modules:

Module 1: Talking openly about mental health

The goal is to understand the impact of mental health on everyday life, assess the effects of stigma, and develop strategies to reduce it.

Module 2: Addressing mental health problems

This module helps identify different types of mental health disorders and their symptoms, as well as recognize available support resources. It discusses challenges in international mobility, such as language barriers or homesickness.

Module 3: Understanding your emotions

This module focuses on recognizing and labeling different emotions, understanding their impact on personal well-being, and applying emotion regulation techniques. Negative thoughts and cognitive distortions are also addressed.

Module 4: Building resilience to cope with challenges

The goal is to identify and apply stress management strategies (coping mechanisms), create a personal resilience plan, and improve mental well-being.

The training includes 24 activities such as reflection exercises, role plays, discussions, and other interactive elements to reinforce key concepts. The educational goal is to understand mental health, challenge myths and stereotypes, and develop self-care routines and resilience-building strategies for everyday life.
