MindIn the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the population has become increasingly aware of the mental health challenges faced by young people in particular: they are now 30-80% more likely to suffer from a mental health disorder.

Based on this, the MIND project is being developed to strengthen mental health practices and improve the emotional well-being of VET students, and also to strengthen the capacity of VET professionals and promote socio-emotional well-being in the context of international mobility.

Mental health problems can have a negative impact on education, employment or social relationships. As young people are more likely to suffer from mental health problems and less likely to access emotional support, it is more important than ever to pay attention to their emotional well-being.

The first Kick-off meeting was held in Roubaix, France, in October 2023, marking the beginning of the project's preparations. Further meetings are scheduled in April 2024 in Macedonia and September 2024 in Spain.

ADICE and its partners will provide innovative and inclusive pedagogical solutions tailored to VET students and other young people with mental health challenges.

To achieve this goal, they have proposed four specific objectives:

  • develop a study to highlight existing mental health needs and expectations in the VET sector
  • developing a pedagogical tool for VET professionals to enable them to implement mental health practices in their own organisation
  • developing a training course on mental health awareness and helping to integrate emotional wellbeing into training and mobility
  • developing an interactive tool to enable practice of emotional, cognitive and social skills

Through the MIND project, partners expect:

  • facilitate the dissemination of information on the mental health needs of students and VET professionals across the EU for international mobility projects
  • engage VET professionals in the implementation of mental health prevention and promotion practices
  • inform VET participants about mental health and accompany them in improving their well-being
  • to lead to the practice of emotional, social and cognitive skills during international mobility projects

The MIND project targets two main groups:

  • Vocational education and training learners involved in an international mobility project who are specifically targeted to improve their mental health and practice social, emotional and cognitive skills before, during and after the international mobility period.
  • VET practitioners who are in constant contact with VET learners who may be experiencing mental health problems.

In addition, the results of the project will benefit all staff members of the partner organisations involved, both during the testing and during the implementation of the tools.

This project is funded thanks to the Erasmus+ programme
