What would the world look like if we saw it through the eyes of our peers from other countries? That’s the question young people from Slovakia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Estonia asked themselves during the three-year project OUR WORLD, which took place from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2025. Thanks to virtual exchanges, they could get to know each other, compare their views on life, and work together to find ways to bring positive change to their communities.

During the project, around 60 students from four countries met regularly in five virtual exchanges. Each exchange consisted of six online sessions, during which the participants prepared presentations, videos, and discussions on various topics – from family and everyday life to environmental and social challenges. The goal was to present the reality of their own country and understand the others better.

At the end of the project, the participants tried to put their new knowledge into practice – by creating so-called “small big changes”, meaning small but meaningful actions in their communities.

You can see how the exchanges went and what the students learned in the videos capturing the process and atmosphere of the entire project:

Huge thanks go to the 8th and 9th grade pupils from Zákopčie elementary school, students from the Grammar school in Dubnica nad Váhom, and pupils from Čierne Vyšný Koniec elementary school, who participated in all the project activities with great enthusiasm. They prepared creative presentations, contributed to the Small Big Changes – small acts with a big impact – and even created an original virtual Escape Room about Slovakia!

The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
