For the third time, we have prepared our popular In&Out training at KERIC - training that we enjoy doing because we know it works. We know how to create a safe, stimulating and experiential space for young youth workers where they not only improve their skills in non-formal learning, but also take away new friendships, ideas, inspiration - and sometimes a few muscles from outdoor activities. 😄

This year 34 youth workers from 14 countries met in Dolny Vadičov 🇬🇪🇦🇿🇹🇷🇦🇲🇪🇬🇸🇮🇱🇹🇬🇷🇺🇦🇮🇹🇩🇪🇪🇸🇵🇱🇸🇰

Our training was divided into two main parts - indoor and outdoor experiences, which complemented each other.

🧩 First days: games, dancing, cooking and first aid

After the initial familiarisation activities, we dove into a series of practical workshops focused on indoor & outdoor non-formal education.

We greatly appreciated the visit of MUDr. Jozef Masnica, who imparted valuable knowledge and skills during the first aid training.⛑️

From the KERIC workshop belt we conducted the following workshops:
✅ Butterfly Effect Game
✅ Cooking Workshop
✅ Dance Workshop
✅ Language Lesson in Nature

🌲 Outdoor section: survival, self-development, and practice

In the second half of the training, we headed out into nature – on a short hike through the Kysuce hills, which we combined with a Survival Workshop provided by our Spanish partner Supervivencia Educativa. We learned the basics of survival in nature, teamwork, and creative problem solving – all with an emphasis on movement, practice, and experience.

This was followed by a profound and sensitive workshop on wellbeing and mental health, which was part of the MIND project (funded by Erasmus+), in which KERIC is also involved. The workshop was led by psychologist and ESC volunteer Öykü Muslu, who created a safe space for sharing, reflection, and mental hygiene. 🌿

🏝️ Final day: An island full of games

And as the cherry on top, we dedicated the last day of training to the practical application of the skills we had acquired. We welcomed 70 children from the 3rd and 4th grades of Komenský Elementary School in Čadca and organized a traditional morning full of games for them, which we call Ostrov (Island).

In the beautiful surroundings of the Šerík running track, we set up seven stations with different games, where the training participants tried out facilitation in practice and the children took away lots of experiences, laughter, and exercise.

💬 Al final...

A big thank you to all participants for their energy, ideas, openness, humor, and friendly attitude.
Throughout the week, you were active, willing to help, engage, and create an atmosphere that makes In&Out not just an ordinary training, but an unforgettable experience.

We look forward to more adventures together! 💚
