On 12th of April Maie introduced her country - Italy. She invited all her friends from KERIC to spend Easter in Lecco, her native town. During this visit she bought a lot of her favourite delicacies due to she can give her guests a treat.

The typical Italian dinner is very rich, takes a long time and starts with aperitif. We tasted olives, cheeses - Mozzarela, Parmesan, dried ham Prossuto. We were talking about Italian art, life and typical Italian conversation with strong gesticulation. All of us wanted to go to Italy :). 

On Friday 9th of April we organized in KERIC The Andersen´s night. It was meant for children, who attend English lessons and they could invite their friend and spend the night in KERIC together with fairytale dressed volunteers. In the beginning they were welcomed by magical drink and then the night begun. The children made masks, remade and decorated their rooms, performed "Narnia" and "From fairy tales to fairy tales", then we looked for the princess and saved her in the night of Čadca, sent a balloon of happiness to the sky. After that they return to the KERIC, we  read, played, danced and watched the fairy tale. We went to sleep around 3:00 am, and by 6:30 am, everybody woke up and danced "Tuna" and finally at 7:00 all children went back to their home.

In the evening on 29th of March, everyone who wanted to taste maté - a typical Uruguayan drink or find out the most about Uruguay, distant and unknown country for us, came to KERIC Underground.They gained the information from Melisa Marrero, volunteer in KERIC, who has been living in Čadca in Slovakia for 7 months.

On 9th of March 2010, after 8 weeks, finished weekly meetings of dance fans, especially latino dance fans. At the last meeting the participants danced forro, salsa, samba and free style dance under the "strict" guidance of international jury consisted of volunteers from KERIC. The winners got sashes, nice present and a kiss from Lenka and Daniel. Eventually, there were collective choreography AXE, fotographing, giving the presents, dancing and talking.

Since March 2009 we have started to co-operate with newly established Leisure Time Centre (LTC) in Klokočov. The main idea of this co-operation was to give a chance to children from Klokočov to co-operate on international level, help them in developing in foreign language communication skills and to get used to people from different countries that speak different languages. The first volunteer who worked in Klokočov was Romuald.

KERIC started to co-operate with Leisure Time Centre (LTC) Stará Bystrica in 2007.The co-operation was based on helping with some activity in LTC by volunteers from KERIC. The innovator in this co-operation was Sandra from Austria. She lived in Stará Bystrica three days a week and participated in activities in LTC, in primary schools in Stará Bystrica and Zborov. The next follower, although for a while, was Pierre from France.

On 8th February 2010, children from the Komenskeho elementary school club visited KERIC Underground to find out about different ways how to use old paper. Under the guidance of Vlada Cabanova and Melisa Marrero, they created notepads and recycled old paper into new, which will be used for further creative work in their after-school club.

The next group of children will come to KERIC for this workshop on 19. 2. 2010.

In cooperation with the Cultural House in Cadca, KERIC opened a course of Brasilian dances on 19th January 2010. For two months, the dance teachers - EVS volunteer Daniel Oliveira dos Santos and ex-volunteer from Brasil and 

International Christmas is a very special day when the KERIC volunteers make the people from Cadca really "feel" Christmas . During this day, they present the way how Christmas is celebrated in the home countries of our EVS volunteers and what it means to them personally. This year, it was organised on 18th December 2009 by Alice and Laura (France), Tanja (Austria), Hanna (Germany), Melisa (Uruguay), Daniel (Brazil) and Maie (Italy). Over 200 children and adults came to KERIC to experience this special Christmas atmosphere and really enjoyed it.
